This cave was home to a miner from Broken Hill, Valerio Riccett who came to the cave after leaving Broken Hill to live the life of a hermit on this scenic hill.

Valerio left the cave to serve time in World War 2 and when released returned back to his hermit life in the cave. He was later struck with Illness where he sought treatment from a local doctor and in return he looked after the doctor’s garden as payment.
